40 Days of Worship - Day 7

Come, let us worship and bow down…

Scripture: Psalm 95:6, Psalm 86:11

Come let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our God, our maker.

Come let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our God, our maker.
For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture.
And the sheep of His hand, just the sheep of His hand.

((C) 1980, Dave Doherty, Maranatha Praise Music)

Kneeling is a form of worship that has been lost in our culture today. For whatever reason you just don’t see it much in church, including ours.

But it’s not just the physical aspect of bowing and kneeling. It’s the idea of bowing one’s heart, submitting one’s heart to an authority far above our own. To do that requires us to be humble, submissive to someone else. Ouch!

If we won’t acknowledge that He is on the throne of our lives, this will be impossible for us to accomplish. God will not sit on a divided throne.

Pray Psalm 86:11 today – “Teach me Your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.”
