Scripture: Psalm 121
A rich passage!
Read through it at least twice before you start your day. Make a list of the promises of God. Make a list of the provision and protection of God.
Sit quietly for a moment and review both lists’. Who on earth can come close to fulfilling every item listed? But we sometimes try to find comfort, protection or provision from sources other than God, don’t we? Success, money, things, addictions – these are all gods that we hope will help us in our time of need.
Devoted followers recognize that this world has nothing for them, that only God can meet our need and guide us in our time of need.
Take some time today to confess to God those areas where you’ve sought other means of help. Be honest with Him. (He already knows…) Ask and receive His forgiveness. Then thank Him for what He has just done for you.
Talk about worship…WOW!
